Can you tell me how to find a copy?

All the best,

DYNAMIC PLUG-IN PROCESSOR

Composer Wendell Hanes (www.volitionsound.com) writes regularly for national advertising campaigns, scores films, and is the author of the new book, The 30-30 Career: Making 30 Grand In 30 Seconds — Producing Music for Commercials (AuthorHouse, 2007). Hanes notes a number of factors that make plug-in compressor/limiters valuable to his everyday workflow. “As a composer, the sound of an instrument is just as important to me as the melody or line I am playing,” he says. “The sound of an instrument influences what I play. Therefore, I try to nail the sound as I am creating melodies. I think plug-ins allow for greater experimentation, especially when time is of the essence. The ability to A/B different settings quickly is very helpful when I am creating a score.

making the mogul

Is there more money in producing for avenues like television and video games as opposed to producing for artists?

Oh yeah. With a 30 second jingle, I can make $30,000. Actually, there’s a book coming out very soon by Wendell Hanes called The 30/30 Career: Making 30 Grand in 30 Seconds. I wrote a chapter in there about mixing – the difference between mixing music for records and mixing music for TV. That should be coming out very soon.

Gold and Platinum plaques, a Grammy award and negotiations to work on Michael Jackson’s next studio album - these are credentials anybody would be more than proud of. But this is just the tip of the iceberg for producer/engineer/musician/composer, Steve Pageot. He’s definitely making major moves and is a mogul in the making.

Record industry in a slump? There is more than one way to skin a beat. At least that is what award winning producer and composer Wendell Hanes says in his up-coming book, The 30-30 Career:Making 30 Grand in 30 Seconds-Producing Music for Commercials!
Hanes has made a living scoring over 500 commercials, promos and show themes in his decade long career, including the well-known “Birth of The Scratch” spot for Heineken. He has worked with every major advertising client you can imagine, from McDonald’s and Pepsi to Mercedes Benz and Nike.
His new company VOLITION SOUND BRANDING creates sound for film and television, and is extending its brand with the book. The two volume set is the most up to date “how to” resource in music composition for the advertising industry, featuring commentary from some of the top names in the game.
“Don’t just wait on the record industry to make money with your music,” advises Hanes.
“Get some of this advertising money and in the process, turn yourself and your company into a brand. The 30 30 Series will show you how.”
The 30-30 Career: Making 30 Grand in 30 Seconds-Producing Music For Commercials will be available April 29th on AuthorHouse Publishing .

career opprtunity

I am from California originally, however; currently residing in south Texas due to my work as a Project Engineer for Kiewit Offshore Services. My passion is music; I live and breathe it on a daily basis. Everything I do is geared towards helping me become better at my craft. My dream is to score movies and commercials and soundtracks and things of that nature. I can honestly say that I have an above par creative genius when it comes to making music that touches your soul. Whether it is Hip Hop, R & B or whatever have you, if I listen to it and study it, I can become it and create it. I’ve been trying to figure out how to go about getting into the business of making music for commercials or television for a while now so when I came across your article I was taken back to have found exactly what it was looking for. So the reason for my contacting one of your associates yesterday, and for me contacting you today by e-mail is because your associate told me to yesterday, but more than that; I would like to know if in any way, you can advise me on what is needed by me and also required from you, to become apart of Volition and making music geared towards television or what have? I have no problem with you listening to what it is and what type of music that I do, so if you’d like, upon your response I could attach one of my song for you listening pleasure. I am a very ambitious and goal oriented individual, and opportunities like this I know are seldom, therefore I don’t want to take the risk of missing out on one. Thank you and I am looking for to your response?
